The Secretary is the record-keeper of the corporation; they are expected to attend all meetings of the board and record the minutes, as well as the General meetings. They are also responsible for sending out the official announcements of the board meetings, and maintain the archive of meeting minutes.

The Secretary is fourth in the line of succession (after the Vice President and Board Chair) for the presidency, and second in line for the Vice Presidency. When the secretary is serving in these capacities, they are an acting officer, and are not expected to retain the inherited position for the remainder of the previous occupants's term.
