    • MMF we solicited interested parties for the tiny letter list & a “ready to be a member” list as well
  • Assets: Darren Moody
    • Scrap run - almost $100, and time prepping for MMF
  • Facilities: John Murray
    • Thanks go out to Darrel for replacing the fluorescent light fixture in the middle bathroom. (It's always good to see where you are going…!)
    • Annex–The landlord did repair the swamp cooler on the east side of the annex, and there are now two functional swamp coolers in the annex.
    • Roof leak at swamp cooler over the metal shop drill press–The landlord notified me that the roofer would pull the cooler and do the roof repairs on Saturday, about 3 weeks ago. Any evidence to the contrary?
    • Moved the paint spray booth from the metal shop to the covered portion of the north side fenced area.
    • All spray paint/coatings were moved from the paint spray booth and laser cutter room lockers to the gray metal cabinet in the north side fenced area.
    • Moved a large quantity of stored chip board and other lumber from the north side fenced area to the locked fenced area adjacent to the annex roll up door. (Material had been stored in excess of 30 days w/o a renewal of the Project Parking Permit.)
    • “Slimed” (the trademarked green tire sealant) two hand cart tubeless tires which seem to always go flat. (There are other options, including a novel one that Jesse T. described, if they continue to fail to hold air).
    • Relamped the fluorescent light fixture in the southwest corner of the Fiber Arts room.
  • Rental: Darren Moody
  • Area Captains
    • 3-D Printing: Josh Pedersen
    • Arcade - Troy Ross
      • There is a PS4 & the XBOX360, in the final stretches of the remodel (though there are a number of small projects to do).
    • Electronics Lab: Aaron Birenboim
      • See June’s report - clean up after yourself, etc. etc.
    • Fiber Arts: Sherie Pennebaker
      • Emailed Report to be cut & pasted later
      • Bandit & John report some people may be willing to do a class on the Juki
    • Laser: Craig Goldsmith
      • Stuff has been moved out. In ~two weeks the big remodel will start
      • Pull out paneling
      • New lighting
      • New paint
      • Gonna “Troy” that room up
      • Want to improve ventilation
      • Create some vertical storage
      • Some evenings or days, the room will be unavailable
      • The new honeycomb will be only for clean material, like acrylic & delrin, the old one for everything else (resin & glue materials)
      • Want to revisit training materials, possibly recertify every user
      • Power currently set to 26ma, may bump it up to 29ma soon. Users with older projects may need to cut slower or bump up the power
    • Metal Shop: Eric Lee
      • Lathe is working again
      • Bandsaw blade ruined (he says this happens every two months or so). He did new signage
    • Welding: John Murray
      • Moved the blue lockers from the laser cutter room to the welding area. Thanks go out to Wil for dividing, repairing and setting the lockers in the welding area, and rearranging the area itself.
    • Woodshop: Gonner Menning
      • There is a lot of abuse of the tools - similar to what happened with Eric’s bandsaw. Table saw blades typically last a month Considering creating a qualification to use the power tools
      • Normal things - expired parking permits

3. Old Business

  • Albuquerque Mini Maker Faire Recap
    • Next one is in April 21 & 22, still at the balloon museum
    • Craig
      • Thanks to Quelab!
      • Thanks for loading & unloading the MMF truck
      • If you didn’t get a badge, we have extras, grab one
      • Apologies at the power problems for the 2nd year in a row on Saturday. Next time we will rent out own generator!
      • Promotional material is pending - within the next four weeks
      • Eric asked if Quelab would be inside (vs. in the tent again)
      • Craig - late April shouldn’t be as windy as early april. Doing April to hope for more school participation, and want to miss finals
    • Gonner:
      • Digital arts should have been used
      • I think we did a bang up job entertaining children
        • Craig - MMF is supposed to be about adult makers connecting with others, but it also appeals to the younger generation as well. Children are not self conscious like adults are
      • Rebecca - the info table received a number of people with a strong interest in quelab
    • NM Train Open House ↔ Quelab Open house same day - 9/23
      • Insert link to Train open house
      • Rebecca:
        • Since their event is so well publicized, we want to take advantage of that
        • She will need volunteers to help run the open house - take waivers, run areas for people
    • Wedding Reception recap
      • Two of our ex members Richard & Cassie - had their reception here in NM at Quelab. Pictures are on Flickr - insert link here
      • The main classroom cleaned up very nicely

4. New Business

  • What is the in-the-door procedure? (Since the RFID laptop is gone)
    • If they have a current waiver for this year, you don’t need to fill out a waiver every time you are here. Visitors should do the waiver
    • We will put out the forms
    • Troy will take a look at the RFID compuiter
  • Flash Drives (Morgan)
    • He has purchased ten 128MB flash drives for loaner use; grab one if you need & bring it back when you’re done
  • NM Symphony Orchestra outreach
    • They contacted us about Quelab at their opening night of something based on the World’s Faire, and they want us to demonstrate stuff. Possibly doing some laser cutting and 3d printing

    • They sent us a $400 donation
  • Rebecca - TedX Saturday on the 9th, @ 1:00 p.m.
