The Return of Darth & Yoda: Star wars event at the balloon museum was good, plans are to attend next year, with an increased area.

Recycle and Renew Event: Repair Reuse event was good, only 5 outside Quelab persons, but it was a good event. We would like to repeat it in January.

Stranger Things Carnival: - Neighborhood Event held at Tractor Brewing. The event went well, we netted about $90 of the ticket take, and did Beer Lights (throwies on an silicone band). A little over 100 beer and beard lights were made and handed out.

Rio Rancho Star wars event in January 2018. Darren has been in communication with the Librarians, and we are on tap to return to this event.

Social Media: Rebecca Snyder

Rebecca talked about some of the posts, not much has been reported to her aside from the RFID return

Assets: Darren Moody

Couches that were in the annex have been moved to the main classroom.

Donations area in the Annex is getting better. We even rejected some donations.

Working on trying to work with volunteers.

Facilities: John Murray

Through Hannah Properties, requested the repair of roof leaks in the shop and electrical conduit, and verified the progress on those repairs, requested a repair of the overhead heater in the shop, which has not been completed. (A reminder request will be sent next week, if necessary.) Reported graffiti and other activities on the south side of the building. Furnished a spare key for the building's Knox box (a secure emergency access for the Albuquerque Fire Department).

Installed carbon monoxide detectors in the core adjacent to the public computer space and in the annex adjacent to the restroom. There is a spare detector that can be also installed in the space.(Eric Lee sent an email to the Members List that there is a carbon monoxide detector mounted next to the laser cutter room. Thanks Eric.)

Repaired the urinal in the annex rest room, per a request from a member.

Rental: Darren Moody

No change. We have some spaces available for rent.

new laser cutter computer has been built and deployed (thanks JT) and the cutter settings reconfigured with the new LaserCut install.

old projects on the old computer are randomly corrupted

new test cut and engrave files created and on the new computer. These are also backed up.

red laser dot pointer is dimmer and diffused than it used to be, we are looking into it and will probably do some diagnostics and look at solutions Sunday 11/5 after the member meeting

Metal Shop: Eric Lee

  • *

The Bridgeport is down

Welding: John Murray

  • *

Removed padlock on Hot Work Area, due to missing key. Replaced non-functional padlock with changeable combination padlock and keyed padlock in series, in case either padlock is not openable, the gate can still be unlocked.

Changed the cutting tip on the oxy-acetylene cutting torch and verified satisfactory operation.

Woodshop: Gonner Menning

  • *

Bandsaw needs a new blade; Gonner is getting a new one for it.

2. Old Business

Fundraising - (From what I can tell, and since no one got back to me with information about it, I think this was not discussed at meeting - JT)

Holiday Hacking? - (From what I can tell, and since no one got back to me with information about it, I think this was not discussed at meeting - JT)

3. New Business

Storage areas: No Storage up on the top of the storage hall!

RFID system returns!

A BIG thanks to Troy Ross for his work in updating this system!

The revised system does not blink right away, because it checks with Wild Apricot real-time

Tool Room: someone put a bunch of paint and chemicals in there. Unknown whom did it, there is a more proper storage area in the big bathroom

SECURITY: Crime we may have had some cars rifled friday night

Suggestion: Adric, a fence along the 7th street side, from the NWcorner of the building to the drivewell would keep people/possible people the tracks and or from even wanting to cut through the quelab part of the lot.

Holiday activities: There was some mention of past holiday activities and the possibility of doing something this year, but nothing was settled on.

Meeting Closed at 7:14pm
