New members must attend an orientation session to gain 24/7 access to the lab. Please see the class list to find the time & date of the next orientation session.


Quelab's Hierarchy

The hierarchy at Quelab is Board of Directors ↔ President ↔ Officers' Corps.

  • The seven person Board of Directors are elected by the members in an annual election in February. Directors serve staggered two year terms, with approximately half the board being replaced each year.
  • The Directors appoint the main officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary) from volunteers from the membership. These officers serve one year terms, expiring in October.
  • The Directors appoint the Stewards and Area Captains from volunteers from the membership with recommendations from the President. The Stewards & Area Captains serve one year terms, expiring in October.

The Board of Directors

The Board controls the legal entity that is Quelab. They pay the bills, file the legal paperwork for the non-profit that is Quelab, and enacts policies

The President

The President (along with the other Officers: the Vice-President, the Treasurer, and the Secretary) is chosen by the Board.

The Officer's Corps

The President is over the Officers' Corps, which is composed of the other Board-chosen Officers (VP, Treasurer, Secretary), as well as the Area Captains & Stewards that are over the various areas, rooms, and equipment that make up Quelab.
