 +    * **Highlights:** June was a busy month at Quelab and now we are all ready to sit back and enjoy some 4th of July celebrations. Highlights from this month include Adric heading up the **Instructables project** for Makerspaces. If you have an idea for an instructable get in touch with him on how to enter. keyword to tag your entries is Quelab2692 Entries must be sent by Aug 31. In the realm of volunteers I would like to thank Sara for being willing to take on Membership. Both she and Sherie are trying to **make becoming a Quelab member easier**. If you have ideas on this or would like to help with this, please drop the ladies a line! We are still in need of folks to help with the running of our space. If you can volunteer on any level we really appreciate it! Quelab is run by it's members volunteering. Every last thing! We'd love to have your help!
 +    * Quelab will start seeing our **friends from the Mini Maker Faire working in the space on Mondays**. Please be aware of this activity if you need to schedule an event. The closer to the faire in August we get the busier Quelab will become on Mondays. Anyone who wants to join is welcome to do so! Plus, you get to help assemble the super cool badges that MMF has.
 +    * **One of the more complicated activities this month was working with Drew over his being moderated on the members list**. His complaint against the board was that there was no set structure/rule to the moderation. Though the board found that he had indeed violated the Freedom of Expression and Ant-harassment policies it was decided that his moderation would be immediately terminated because there is not actual written policy on moderation. We are now working on developing a policy for clarity and fairness. Quelab is everyone's space, so we would very much like your thoughts on this. Email the board or I encourage you to have civil conversations on the members list expressing how you want your community run. Consider this one of the very important ways you can help Quelab reflect its' members

 +      * After a precipitous fall in membership, we are now no longer in the black monthly. We are still bringing in enough revenue from classes and the like to be not loosing month-to-month, but our finances aren't looking good, and the class schedule revenue isn't assured for the rest of the year. Additionally, the landlord wants to raise our monthly Common Area Maintenance charge to cover their poorly budgeted expenses.
 +      * With our current membership of 66 sustaining members (and a total of 73), we are only 86% funded. Our break-even membership number is now 88 sustaining members. The cost of hacking page has been updated, and reflects that most of our expenses remains rent and maintenance.
 +      * That said, we have $10000 in the bank, and take in about $2900 a month and spend $3500. The board of directors is already looking at membership retention, and a membership drive to coincide with Maker Faire.

 +        * Hyperspace was pretty picked over. Many things of moderate value were removed.
 +        * Before the garage sale, most of the scrap boxes were placed up for sale. Items which did not sell, but we wanted to keep in PFUDoR/Hyperspace were returned to shelves. Items which we can live without were placed in the Annex. I ask that members take a look in the Annex, and select any items that you would not want to see get recycled or disposed of, and place them back in Hyperspace.
 +        * My thought is that if somebody cares enough to find something, and actively put it away, it may be worth keeping. I want to try to stop dumping boxes of donations in PFUDOR.

 +      * Hardware refurbishment of the JET Lathe has been completed. It was used on a real project for the first time on Tuesday June 28 as a Hacknight free favor to a prospective member who need a short machining operation for a personal project that is trivial on a lathe but nearly impossible without one.

 +      * I have not been keeping up my job of checking up on projects and green parking passes. A quick look has appeared to show many projects not complying. Some not placed in projects area, some out of date and some that look like just not updated.
 +      * Green Parking Passes are for one month (30-days) or are being currently worked on (not for storage). So starting now I am going to photograph projects each month and out of date and those that do not seem to worked on will be asked to be removed. Any project storage without my permission that is not stored anywhere but in the designated storage are will be asked to be moved or removed.
 +      * The designated project storage areas are the shelves and unused roll up door in the southeast corner of the shop and the shelves in the north-east corner. Storage anywhere else needs my permission.
